The exhibition “Colored Impressions” was created in the laboratory “My Name Is Color. Color in the Urban Space” by the State Center for Contemporary Art in St. Petersburg. It reflects the complex and subjective experience of color in the city. Over the course of 1.5 months, together with the mentors, we explored St. Petersburg. Each study was conducted in radically different locations across the city: from the industrial outskirts to the center of Petrogradka, from crowded to deserted places, from bright signs, fences, and new buildings to quiet natural areas with the chirping of birds. I took the photographs and old magazines taken during these walks, as well as quotes from books about color. I began experimenting with colors and textures. I combined them to create new palettes and compositions, which appeared in the form of collages in the zine. The collages simultaneously harmonize and contrast with each other, much like the world around me.
